No, I don't.
However, I have found materials in NJ that are/might be suitabile.
I called around and found I could pick up a sack of fireclay in Newark.
I think I got this info. from the Thomas Register. Don't remember the
firm (Gillespie comes to mind). They wouldn't deliver one sack and made
an exception to their usual procedures to sell me only one, but they
were very nice about it.
However, ANY boiler repair shop can sell you a castable refractory good
at least to 2800, maybe to 3000 F. They may even have it on hand. If
not, they can order it.

Does ANYBODY have a source for fire clay which would handle up to 3000
degrees Fahr, here in Eastern CT. I've found sources for basic
fireable
mdeling clay (in my choice of colors) and for 2000 degree refactory,
but
that's it. Any suggestions, folks?
If I use some of the refactory, or the modeling clay, until I can find
what
I want, what difficulties might I have with it, and what sort of
special
care might it need?
I really, REALLY want to build a couple more forges, and protect the
firepots of the ones I do have. I'm getting too many peopleinterested
to
just take one forge and a couple anvils along.
