Speaking of SCA .... Think about those old Greeks and Romans forging 
in  open top sandals..

<g>  knuckles  respective  to the ground is not a safe subject,  but shoe / 
heel   height  like the Govenator wears  would lift them up a bit.
I am  5' 9" in my bare foot mode,  but with my regular work shoes on,  my 
anvil at knuckle height is 32 1/2 inches, and my flat palm height  is  34 
inches.  Guess the anvil / stand setup  at 33 inches by some prior 
generation blacksmith was pretty good for me.    .
