Unless you have the sound go through a freq anylizer. ANd then you can
see exact freq produced. But then you need to have a mechanical striker
that delivers exactly the same rap each time.
But why do you need scientific proof when you can go out to the shop and
do a little experimenting on your own and prove or disprove to your self
any difference in sound.
As someone said earlier, vary the content % in bells and you get
different tones for the same exact mold.
