What kind of a finished look are you going for?
High polish, techy perfection has different possibilities and problems
than rustic.
Personally I prefer an honest seam that just plain IS. Hiding it always
fails unless you are into polishing the thing down.
A minimalist seam could be done by tinning a back plate and the backs of
the sheet edges. (Envision stacking three playing cards, two side by
side with the third underneath with half under each of the first two)
Taking care not to buckle the sheets from heat bring the joint up to
temperature and it will look like a butt joint, IF you are lucky.
PRACTICE THIS FIRST ON SCRAP.
It helps to use the heaviest copper that you can get., I wouldn't try
this with anything less than 20 oz.
OR
You could just butt the joints and adhere them to the substrata.
For edge pieces and details use the pretinning method and just be
prepared to buff the solder off that seeps out.
