[TheForge] gate barrings

ok I'm working on a design for a swing gate 5' tall 6' wide made of 1" and
1/2" steel. For the hinge I was thinking of using a post with barring. So
the hinge is not visible. The question is what type of barring would you
recommend? We are dusty and dirty out here in sunny Ca. so I'm worried about
the hinge filling in with grit . Any and all input is welcome
