If it was anything patentable or in any way proprietary, no I would NOT do
that.  HOWEVER, since this is already a mock of someone else's logo I see no
problem with making one myself that is similar.

Engineering is about 98 percent using ideas that already exist.  The rest is
coming up with new ideas.  I see this as fitting in with the 98.
