When I lloked at the farm that we eventually bought, I stopped by all the
neighbors and told them I was parttime blackmsith and I planned on working on
a hammer and avil, and lighting a coal forge. I asked them if it was okay with
them. Everyone one of them thought it was a great idea. After I moved in, I
made a point of going around and fixing things for themfor free. I make sure
that I stay on their good side.

I also called the local Fire department, and EPA, Housing Inspection, and asked
about ordinances. I couched all my questions in the words

"I am thinking about building a "hobby" blackmsith shop "somewhere" in your
town. Can you tell me what the rules are."

I never mentioned the address or called from home. I always called from s
school/work which is in a different town. I also never gave them my name. If
they couldn't answer right away, I called back later.

Isn't sanity really just a one trick pony, anyway? I mean, all you get is one
trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazyooh hoo hoo hoothe
sky's the limit!
