I have been thinking about getting 3 phase from 1 and came up with another possible approach... That would be to use a AC variable speed contol, AKA "vfd". You can get them single phase in with 3 phase out--and variable speed to boot. Has anybody gone this route or thought about it for running 3 phase machines in your shop? -Rick
