	I'm not sure I understand all this.  Usually when I slow the
	hammer down, I want a lighter blow.  If I want high power
	precise single shots, then I'm probably better off with a 
	kickass.

	I've wanted to build a hammer with both sorts of valving.
	What about a silicon controlled flow valve for adjusting
	the rate while the treadle controls power?
