Mark, did you rob some old power hammer parts and make a frame? or
machine, weld, and figure out parts to make everything yourself?
So it is just a flat belt with tensioner and no clutch......similar
to a Fairbanks?

Ralph

I have run my own 100 lb.home bilt hammer for about 8 years with a v belt
and a tentioner. The trick is to get a belt that has what looks like cloth
wrapped all the way around, including on the friction areas. The last trick
is to keep the belt well greased. Plain old gun grease works find.
This have worked for 8 years and has never given any problems. It has
very smooth take up.
Everybody who has been to my shop was very impressed.
