   I have run my own 100 lb.home bilt hammer for about 8 years with a v =
belt and a tentioner. The trick is to get a belt that has what looks =
like cloth wrapped all the way around, including on the friction areas. =
The last trick is to keep the belt well greased. Plain old gun grease =
works find.=20
   This have worked for 8 years and has never given any problems. It has =
very smooth take up.
   Everybody who has been to my shop was very impressed.
