Its probably a term you dont use up there, its just insulation on a pipe, I
used to have a bit to do with keeping sludge lines hot on my old job, theres
a type of split tube made from dense "batt" like insulation, you open it and
put it on the pipe and then wrap silver tape around it. Some of these lines
also had the heating element on them that I mentioned also.

Good mechanical clutch is in a car differential, using the handbrake, works
really well, and you get a speed reducer in the bargain.
