Amen, brother.

While at the ABANA conference in LaCrosse I happened to sit down for lunch 
and Ron Kinyon was across the table.  We got to talking and I asked him 
about all the "modifications" that I kept hearing about.  His basic reply 
was that if you build the hammer according to the plans and use new parts 
then the hammer works just fine, no modifications needed.  But, he said, as 
soon as you change one thing, then all bets are off because it throws the 
system out tune.

Such is what I also conclude.  Not that there aren't other ways to skin 
this cat, but how many times do we need to reinvent the wheel?
