Guys

I have been using a Kinyon for 8 years. A group of us
built five hammers. Four of them were 110 lb. and one
was 60 lbs. They all had the original Kinyon design.
They worked ok!!!
I modified one, to the Lynn design and it works
better. It has more control and hits harder.
I have never used "any" parts the Ron has specked out.
I just follow the recommended port sizes and most
important the CV numbers. Its also very nice to have
a five-horse two-stage air compressor with at least 17
cfm, Even better a seven and half 23 to 26 cfm.
Ron Kinyon is an auto engineer in Arizona and visited
the Detroit area many times.
When he would have free time he would come by my shop
in Ann Arbor Mi. and chat.
As of the last time he was at my shop he had not tried
the Lynn modification.
He liked how my hammer worked with the Lynn
modifications, and said, I do not think I could make
it any better.
He did feel there was more room for improvement with
double ram roller switches and linkages but that
another somewhat major design change.

I have used a Kinyon for my work every day for seven
to eight years. I beat them up. They still work fine.
I get well over 200 bpm's with normal hammering. The
only problem with any of the Kinyon/Lynn designs is
the slow feather speed.
Thats when you go buy a self-contained air hammer for
7 to 20 thousand dollars.

If you think what you are getting for 400+ dollars
plus some steel and sweat, its not a bad deal. Boy
does it save the old body

(by the way I use a 2 and half x 10 cylinder on my 110
lb. ram)

I have used a Kinyon/Lynn for almost all the stuff
on my web page.

Kinyon/Lynn hammers
