[TheForge] Metal coloring question.

Guys,

I have one of those garage shelter type of things that I'll be using as my
smithing shelter at SCA events. It's quite adequate for the job- I've bought
fabric to cover the silver tarp roof, and to make walls, but the poles are
glaringly white painted metal. I suppose I could replace the ones which
touch the ground with wooden poles, but I'd like to color them all with a
faux wood looking finish. Anybody have any ideas about something that would
work, and be reasonably chip resistant? It doesn't have to be perfect, just
less obtrusive...
