"At last we arrive at the undiscovered country, for the future is now. Every
one of us is living in the future at this moment. We are sitting two feet
away from it, and typing into it."

On the whole I have to disagree that the computer is the future, it is also
the past. The box you sit in front of will not be here in 10 years. Computers
will become ubiquitous, it will live on you, in you, and all around you.
Advanced miniaturization being studied by NASA for their suddenly revived hopes for
the "man in space" future. They are looking at nanotechnology in health care.
Using nanomachines to diagnose and repair the body. They are predicting they
will have working, usable models for the year 2020. This is the future of
computers... they will be a part of us and our world... directly.

The problem with looking at the earth when considering the future is that the
perspective is all wrong... on it.. instead of above it. The future is space.
Metals, industry, mining, healthcare, science.... when we try to leave here
we have to take here with us so to speak... we need to look at
industrialization of the Moon and Mars.... I think that metal workers will be in high demand
there!
