Subject:  Call for Participants - Registration Process 
	   Hammer In 2004 � John Deere Historic Site, Grand Detour

On August 7, 2004, the John Deere Historic Site will host �Hammer In 2004,�
a public event celebrating the Site�s 40th Anniversary, and company founder
John Deere�s 200th birthday.

By this letter, we are extending an invitation to all association members
to participate in the event�s �showcase� activity � an on-site
blacksmithing demonstration.  We will have space for 40-50 blacksmiths,
demonstrating their blacksmithing skills and also selling their wares.
Following the close of the day�s events, a special Hog Roast will be held
for all participants and their families.

The deadline for registration is April 1, 2004.  Registrations will be
accepted after this date, however participation will not be guaranteed.  We
will confirm registration directly to participants by May 1. 

Your participation in this event will play an important role in making the
celebration not only the first of its kind, but an outstanding event
commemorating the John Deere Historic Site�s forty years of service in
preserving the heritage of John Deere and his company.
