My mother told me that when she was a child some 70 years ago in Northern
Michigan she was standing near the front door of the house when a bolt of
lightning hit the house.  Out of the fireplace rolled a three foot blue ball
of electricity that started to roll across the room towards her.  She
remembers opening the front door and watching it roll outside.  As far as I
have been able to find out this has been known to happen but todate the
phenomena has never been recorded on film.   Bill
