Hello all.
I am in need of a little instruction on how to braze. I have not been
able
to find any resources on line that give any information on how to at
all.
Might someone be able to give me the Readers Digest version? I am
trying to
finish an X-mass gift for my mother.
What I am trying to do is braze copper grounding rod to copper roofing.
I am
using theses components to create feathers. I know it sounds strange
but it
will really look neat for what I am trying to do. I will try to post
pictures when I get the project done, which is if I ever get it done.
I
have tried to solder them together but they just don't won't to stick
together and I would rather not have a white line running down the
center of
each feather.
Thanks for what ever help you can give.

You did not mention if that was Silver solder or not. Any way silver or lead
would leave a line. Other than the before mentioned TIG with a small copper
rod; the only thing I can think of is using your Oxy/Acy torch and brazing with
a small copper rod.
Try using your smallest tip and try to direct the majority of the heat to the
your rod and gently heat the roofing melt a ball of your filler at the joint
and watch it until it flows to the joint. The melted filler will follow the
heat.
Since I do not have a TIG machine I use the snot out of my Torches.
Time enough for sleep in the grave.
