Andy,
The fine shot I am after is used as a substitute for high carbon powdered
steel.
It is used as a contrasting filler around the main design elements,
The light colored material in the buckle came from sliced sections of heavy
wall 6" diam. nickel pipe scrap.
The materials are relatively expensive so I am always looking for alternate
materials, with  alloys in them,  that will show good contrast.
