> Rev. Patrick Henry Battista, a blacksmith for over 27 years with the NY
Renaissance Fair in Tuxedo, and a long time resident of the area, died
Tuesday evening, December 7 at this home in Wurtsboro Hills.
> The son of Josephine Tambone, and the late Patrick Battista, he was born
in the Bronx on March 16, 1945. During his life, he was a member of the NYPD
Mounted Division, a detective in Putnam County, a pastor with the Celtic
Christian Church, he served as a cleric for various local hospitals,
belonged to the Orange County Police Benevolent Assn., and was a member of
the Clan McCloud.
> He is survived by his mother, Josephine of Cherry Hill, NJ; his son Steven
Battista and his wife Shelly, of Richlands, NC; one daughter Kristina
Zaffino and her husband Jeff, of Rossville, GA; brother Henry Battista and
his wife Sofia; 3 grandchildren, Cole, Samantha, and Gianni; and several
nieces and nephews.
> Visitation will be held at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111
Sullivan St. Wurtsboro on Saturday December 11, 2004 from 9:30am -12:00pm.
His funeral mass will be held at the St. Joseph's Church, of Wurtsboro at
12:00pm immediately following the visitation. With the Rev. Peter Madori
Officiating.
> Burial will be held in the Sylvan Cemetery, Wurtsboro
> Memorial contributions may be made to the Twin Towers Scholarship Fund
