I would not go that far. Never confuse the fruits of treachery,
cunning, basic strong intelligence, and a pair big enough to require a
wheel barrow, with genius. I have known a couple of true geniuses as a
child and from what I can tell, such people are rarely attracted to the
lifestyle that is politics, though I'm sure there are exceptions. Rummy
may in fact be a genius, but I doubt it. The numbers are against him.
genius is not required to do what he's accomplished.
Nikola Tesla was a genius. Thomas Edison was not, yet people confuse
him as one because Tom was in fact a hard working, thieving, murdering,
intelligent, cunning, and treacherous sumbitch whose abilities and
ambition lead him to great material success. Tesla had only his genius
to carry him through and in the end we can all see where the respective
talents and bents left these fellows. I've yet to hear of "Consilidated
Tesla", or a town named Tesla, NJ.
