It occurred to me that this is happening--possibly--because they
deliberately underbid the war for the first 80 bil bank draw to get the
war going, knowing that once it was underway people couldnt say no to
more cash. And this issue with real troops complaining--not that I am
normally a conspiracy theorist, but it seems funny that just now is the
first time we hear soldiers' criticism--it makes it so much easier to
go to the well and get whatever they need. On the floor, now, they can
conjure up a picture of a real kid in a truck with scrap iron welded to
it. Powerful stuff. 

Bring out your wallets boys and girls, sooner or later we're gonna have
to pay the bill. Those poor bastards over there already are.

Rummy flat scares me. So does Cheney, and most of all Rove. Brilliant
guys, with a big picture that doesn't include the names of any of us
low-level types, including, unfortunately, the iraqi civilians and
worst of all our soldiers. It's only because Rove reminds me so much of
Goebbels that Rummy's doublespeak needs a new historical precedent.

But that's just me. Prolly better to stay out of politics on the list,
but sometimes I can't help myself.
