Hi Mike:
Given sufficient surface area of the lap joint, proper prep and flux and
gentle heating till the solder flows, it SHOULD work just fine.
I grind long opposing tapers on the blade as joint prep..seems to help a
lot. Also clamping the sides firmly in place so it doesn't shift as the
solder reaches solidus and cools is important.....PF
