Nah, that's overkill. :-)
One of my favoite demos (for novices) is to punch a 1/2" hole in 1/4"x
1", then tell them I'm going to put a 1" hole in the same bar. Impossible!
Slot, drift to size, of course. They love it.
The impossible we do quickly. Only truly implausible tasks require
the tesseractile toolbox but then they are accomplished in exactly
less than no time at all.
Er, I think...
ObForge:
Just failed to close a 1-1/2" (wood-cutting) bandsaw blade with
Silfos, failed again with US silver coin metal (1964 I think). Both
snapped when bent a little. Succeeded with my ordinary everyday
green-coated brazing rod.
(The saw isn't running yet but...)
Now that I've done it, anybody care to comment on what I should have
done or how long I can expect my braze to last? (The blade is on the
saw and rolls over the 26" wheels okay without snapping when turned by
hand.)
