Dont have pictures of a homemade one, but I wonder why you would want 
to make one- with the price of steel today, you can buy a used one 
cheaper. And they still work after 100 years- so there are lots of old 
ones out there. Key feature would be a really heavy throat- the good 
old ones, like say an Edwards, might have a casting that weighs 100lbs 
or more.
Harbor freight, jet, and various other small ones are available dirt 
cheap. How big a bar do you want to cut?
