Thanks to everyone for the great input.  I think I will stick with the rectangular shape, but will adjust the wall height & roof trusses if possible.  My husband had actually brought home a copy of the Handyman "Rustic Yard Shed" & is pushing for that with modifications.  I'll definitely adjust the venting & add the mechanisms in the concrete for holding the tools.  Most likely the square tubing will be the easiest & most cost effective.
