Hi guys:
I did Mig weld the handrail with silly bronze and pure
argon. 
I used my small welder  Lincoln Sp130/170
I think it's really 120 amps...
I used the "C" setting (about half way) 
It sort of puddles and spatters, but if you get
feed/amps just right you will hear the good sound
It does work without preheating, but you have to get
your feed and amps just right..

The joints are tough and you would have to beat them
apart.
I did "V' it top and bottom, welded the top first and
then filled the bottom "V" then started grinding, flap
wheel, foam backed sand paper, Tripoli then rouge
buffers.
