Steve,
If asking a question of this sort on this list sets me up for appearing
less than bright etc., so be it. I'm not lost in the fog here, just
trying to tap some of the riches of this list. The thing is, I know I
can build a crane, just don't want to miscalculate the engineering
specs. Two of the most valuable things I've learned so far in life are:
if you don't know, ask and safety first (especially when it comes to
lifting heavy objects overhead). I'm not worried about getting bad
information, cause I'll cross reference anything that comes my way. I'm
just trying to possibly save some time since, as usual, I'm trying to do
too many things at once. Also, the possibility of varied resonses
forces me to think of different approaches, which I like. I happen to
be a better than average welder, so when I can, without being redundant
, I try to post to the list when a welding question comes up. I would
hate to think that the willingness of guys with appropriate knowledge to
the question being asked aren't speaking up. I will say one thing, my
question isn't purely a blacksmithing question and I have certainly
noticed that inquiries pertaining to blacksmithing technique, tools etc.
do get the most numerous and avid responses (for obvious reasons).
Thanks all for the responses, as always it's a great help. BTW Steve, I
have a question about Nazel hammers for you, I'll be in touch soon.
Regards,
