[TheForge] JIb Crane Specs

Bill,

I was looking for gantry crane spec's a while back and found many mfr/seller
websites were very cooperative in giving dimension spec's for the weight
range I wanted. You might have similar luck.

There's a 2 ton jib crane down the road from me setting outside a pump
station, I could take some pic's and get dimensions if you'd like. Just
driving by the I beam is ~12" web x 8' long sitting atop a 16" dia. pipe 8'
tall. There's obviously a bearing on top of the pipe, under the I beam, an
accessory bearing rides on the pipe about 3' down and is held in place by
1/4' plate sides that take the diagonal stress off the I beam and transfer
it lower down the vertical pipe.

The pipe is sitting/welded on a 1" plate ~30" dia. and it's bolted to the
concrete pad with 6 1.25"-1.5" bolts. Let me know if you'd like more
specifics.

Kevin

Subject: [TheForge] JIb Crane Specs

Greetings,
I need to build a couple of jib cranes for my shop. My initial web
search found sights of merchants offering cranes for sale. I don't want
to play games with them to get specs to build my own. I need to find a
free source of engineering specs for 1 to 2 ton jib cranes, wall or
floor mounted with foundation plans. Anyone know of a good source? Back
to my search. Thanks.

Regards,
Bill Woolley
