That is a good idea for the balls, I never would have thought of that. Do
you think the mild steel would be strong enough. I would be worried about
the arms perhaps bending, but then 3/4" is pretty strong and for my boat of
20 feet and 1400 pounds, probably strong enough.

The anchor is made out of 3/4 inch mild steel for the shank and arms and
1/2 for the stock. Making the throat and flukes was a real upsetting
experience! The balls on the end of the stock were made by wrapping 3/4 x
1/4 around the bar and forge welding it. The first one was easy but holding
the anchor for the second on was interesting.

Nice job Bill, I have been thinking of making one for quite some time, but
could not decide on how to proceed, now you have given me some more ideas.
What kind of steel did you use, I doubt you used mild for an anchor.
