[TheForge] Walter Scadden Workshop on Marine Hardware at Furnace Town

Harry,
The anchor is made out of 3/4 inch mild steel for the shank and arms and
1/2 for the stock. Making the throat and flukes was a real upsetting
experience! The balls on the end of the stock were made by wrapping 3/4
x 1/4 around the bar and forge welding it. The first one was easy but
holding the anchor for the second on was interesting.

Nice job Bill, I have been thinking of making one for quite some time,
but
could not decide on how to proceed, now you have given me some more
ideas.
What kind of steel did you use, I doubt you used mild for an anchor.
Cheers

Just posted several pictures in the recent works folder of the anchor I
made
last weekend at the Marine Hardware Workshop led by Walter Scadden at
Furnace Town MD.
