Or it might be a softer stainless jacket over a core of harder steel as in
wariba-gitae or san-mai construction. Once pattern welding gained
popularity, it was readily made available by mass-production means. I
recently saw a 30" inch scimitar blade of 'maiden-hair" pattern which sold
for $200.00 USD. Build it, and they will come......Grant
