Yes, but only in the winter. I preheat surface with a small piece of = =BD"=20 plate about 5" square. If it is going to be bitterly cold, I also have = a narrow box that sits over anvil (open side down) with a light bulb in=20 it that keeps the chill off, but does not really make the surface warm.
