I accept this, but the craft may have been shot down anyway.
What I was trying to say, and perhaps missed the mark, was
that had the USAF downed the plane, I'm not at all convinced
the whitehouse would want to come clean due to possible
reactions such as "why didn't you wait longer... they may have
been able to gain control of the plane... all those people..."
Not necessarily a rational response, but that's how the "public"
often reacts to things like this and I believe a guy like Bush
would have no problem omitting certain facts if he thought it
would better ensure reelection. I'm afraid I don't hold much
confidence in political types.

It makes a difference in my mind from the standpoint of
government responsibility to the constituency. Otherwise
I concur.

Actually, I was a little disgusted to hear it. Wanna kill
people, go ahead. But why drag the poor horse into it? I
think humans should leave the rest of the world out of their
dirty little messes.
