[TheForge] Nazel Question

Grant, I call Bob Bergman who is the most reliable resource for the hammers
as he's done a lot of machining on them, and has outlets for rings, leather,
packings, guide plates, used motors, etc. He answers all my questions as I
come up with them. It is a real nice asset to have someone who's been in
there before and has suppliers to contact. If you know Marc Krauss he may
be able to help you if he's closer to you. He and Bob did the tape on
rebuilding a hammer at Bob's shop.
Bruce Wallace I've heard owns some rights to the Beaudry's and Nazel's - or
something like that, but I'm not familiar with what he actually has - so
contacting him is another avenue to persue.
Steve Howell also on theforge list is going thru a rebuild at the moment and
is dealing with sleeved bores, and tup repairs. We are currently "chatting"
on a couple questions about the hammers. It is the "brotherhood" and
"networking" of us metalworkers that keeps it possible. Trying to start
from scratch and hunt everything down yourself is a task. It's nice to tap
into folks who are doing it - or better yet - those who have done it before.
I'm just starting to rebuild mine(a 3B) I aquired from Bob in a trade in on
a Striker hammer sale close to me (about 100 miles south). I'll be much
better informed ...................say around March or April........ :-)
A good question is who else owns Nazels on the list? do you have parts
availability lists made up? Would you care to share any resources?
Ralph
