[TheForge] Squrriel Cage Blowers

Ralph,
I gotta diagree with you about the 250 cfm. I like the low level to keep
the fire going without wasting too much coke/coal/charcoal. At the high end, I
have been using the smaller blowers for a couple of years and got the fire so
hot that I melted the 1/4 inch grate I bought. I had to make a bigger grate
out of 1/2 round. I also found that you can hook up the smaller blowers to
dimmer switch extension cords. The bigger ones seem to just go on and off and
don't actually change speeds.
You're right about the bigger blowers though. I think Shannell wanted them
for an exhaust fan, not for a forge. I don't even know how I would mount
something that big!

Isn't sanity really just a one trick pony, anyway? I mean, all you get is one
trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazyooh hoo hoo hoothe
sky's the limit!
