I'm mystifyed by your description.
When you say "pipe wrench" do you mean a "Stilson wrench", which is the
common wrench used for turning pipes (i.e., anything without flats)? Or
do you mean some other kind?
When you say "pipe wrench movable jaws" do you mean JUST the L-shaped
piece from a stilson wrench? Or do you mean the entire wrench "head"
(upper and lower jaw)?

Today at the junk yard I saw 4 or 5 sets of large pipe wrench movable
jaws
welded together at the long ends, so that the two short bends were at
opposite ends of a wide short U.
Any idea what they might have been used for? Most consisted of the
same
size moveable jaws welded together, but a few were of different sizes.
They
were in a pile of stuff that had a lot of pump parts and a couple of
old RR
jacks, as well as a bunch of T-type lug wrenches with one arm missing.
