Just returned last night from parents weekend at University of Miami. =
My=20
daughter is a fine arts major and thought we'd like to see the Viscaya
Mansion in=20
Coconut Grove, Miami. John Deering, founder of International Harvester =
Co.=20
had it built in the early 1900s, complete with 34 rooms and 50 acres of
gardens=20
with wrought iron gates and hardware all done by Sam Yellin. Just
beautiful.=20
 If you get down that way, it's a must. The Summit of the Americas was =
held

there during the Bill Clinton era, and despite his obvious lack of =
morality=20
and integrity, he picked a magnificent venue to host the heads of state =
of
the=20
western hemisphere's countries. We could have spent days there.

I grew up in Homestead...When we were in Junior High we took a field =
trip to
that mansion...Vivid memories of that place...Amazing...

Also spent a lot of time in Key Biscayne and the grove back in the
70's/80's...
