You haven't really missed much Pete. Most of what I deleted would require
samples retrieved from drill samples to have much meaning for your
situation. Still . . . . I'm working graveyard shift for the next three
months and don't try to change back to days on my weekends. Soooo on one of
my BORING nights off I might try putting my materials lab and drilling
experience in some form of relatively concise and maybe even useful how to
for guestimating soils for hammer, etc. foundations.
I certainly don't envy you the pick and shovel work, I used to live in
southern california and have a good idea how much fun it's going to be. You
might consider renting a compressor and jack hammer, could also drive small
dia. piles with one. <grin> I grin because driving steel with a jack hammer
is a raft of work I don't recommend.
