What these folks are saying is....many of us are self taught..you can be 
too.
 There are books and conferences that didn't exist when we were learning.
There are a number of schools that teach BS..they aren't free.
An apprentice is simply a time consuming liability in  the context of 
modern one man shops, to overstate it a bit.
The apprentice isn't able to turn out salable work for quite some 
time...and when they are...they want to leave for some reason.
If you examine the attitude and fragmented thinking displayed in your 
note...would you want the author in your shop?
For the first time in the history of the craft, all the information you 
could possibly need is available on the net.
I don't much wanna hold your hand...
'cause of the dung it's probably been flinging.
