You can spray weld with 75/25, just not optimally.
Here is my untrained approach:
Set your voltage at about 3/4 of full scale (26-28V if you have numbers)
Set your wire feed speed at half to 3/4 of full speed
Run a bead down the middle of a piece of thick steel (1/2" or more). The
arc should mainly be a gentle hiss, *much* quieter than the usual short
circuit sound. You will be putting down a lot bigger bead than usual.
The arc will be a lot hotter than usual! If your bead is boiling, try
turning down the voltage.
Once you figure out how to set your machine, you'll never look back.
