[TheForge] Suggestions needed for scroungeable steel

Larry,
I may end up taking you up on that.
The idea here, though, it to design a treadle hammer that requires no
welding to assemble. I know that sounds ridiculous to those of you to
whom welding is simple and second nature, but to some it's a real
stumbling block. Granted I am privileged to be friends with a number of
good welders, but not everybody is so blessed!
The irritating thing is I've GOT a piece of 2x2 stock over 6' long, but
I'm not going to use it for this because it IS WI!

Bruce,
I probably have some mild steel in 1 3/4 or 2"(posts from old W/I
fencing, calm down guys its not W/I). Let me know if you want some. I
could
weld a plate of something harder to the end for you also if you want,
but I
don't want Marshall to feel left out. Let me know
Larry
