Mike, eyes hurting from the sun is why I wear wide
brimmed hat now. I had used sunglasses until I had to
wear glasses (about 45 years young) but they were
inconvenient. Now I wear hats all the time. 
BTW, wide brims work much better than 'baseball' type.
