Thanks for that URL.  That was a great series of articles in Anvil Magazine.  I subscribed for a year just to get that series of articles.

With regard to leaf and coil springs (and car and truck axles), I think it's very handy to have an assortment on hand just for this type of thing, and making all the other various tools in your shop that might get used once or 10,000 times.
