Mine was set up for it but were missing the 'rings'. I would consider them a complimentary form of oiling since they only work if you have oil in the reservoir. Old castings leak, etc.

Does it have any open ports on the frame? You might be able to add one somewhere. It does make a huge difference on the current draw.

Can be, it's a high-wear area. be sure to check it out if you get into it.

As far as the local machine work on my 3B goes; I'm lucky enough to still have a few machine shops around that know well this era of technology. There's one that is babitting journals for street-cars in detroit and I just heard that Snohomish Ironworks in Snohomish, Wa. is the only (still) operating line-shaft driven factory in America. True? I'm not sure but there is still an element of the old time hard core out here. They used to build P.T. boats right behind us so the history is here, you just have to find it.
