I dunno about *model* planes but I once used two 3M products on a
summer job at an aircraft plant. We glued rubberized fabric to dense
foam and rubber de-icers to metal on 6' long aluminum propeller
blades.
I realize these aren't very porous materials but one night my shoe
sole started to flapp and I glued it back with one of these cements
and it stayed glued until that pair of shoes otherwise disintegrated.
Both were contact type cements -- apply, wait for tack-free, press
together. No names, just numbers which, after 40 years, I've
forgotten. So I'dlook in the *real* aircraft industry for an
indestructo cement for joining belts.
