hello;

i have been think over the wall connector for use in
connecting the slats of a yurt wall together. i have
mainly been focusing on how would i make several hundred
of these in a reasonable amount of time. there seems to
be two logical avenues to follow. forged using a series
of dies or cast. this still leaves open what material
would be used. stainless steel or brass or a monel alloy.

forging:
using 5/8 round:
cut slugs and heat.
first die would flatten one half of the slug to form
a the "washer" portion of the connector.
reheat.
2nd die would form the hex socket in the slug at the washer
end.
at this point the slug would need to drilled and tapped.

casting:
make a master pattern of the connector.
make several wax patterns from the master pattern.
create sprues and gates for 'piglet' cast.

any suggestions, comments, etc are welcomed.
