[TheForge] Auction June 19, Loveland, Colorado

The crowd was a little weak; we came in at about 3/4 of where I thought
we should have. The major casualties were the two vehicles, going for
well under what they should have sold for. The LG did pretty good at
$1.9k. It was in very good condition (many new parts) and from what I've
seen market is $2k to $2.5k.

The auction was horribly depressing. I thought at the time it was due to
some of the bad deals, but now I think otherwise. Seeing all those items
we loved going away was really hard, even if we intend to get similar
items after moving. One of those subconcious reactions that sneaks up
and grabs you. I appreciate your asking though.

On the other hand, it is over and we are looking forward. If we could
have read the future, we could have made a little more money--couldn't
we all! I certainly can't see any better way of having cleared out so
much stuff. I do recall an urge while preparing for the auction to swear
a geas that I would never, ever bring home anything again that weighed
more than 50 pounds....but I refrained.

We're moving the end of July. My email won't change, although I may be
off the air for awhile.
