I have a Sony DSC-F717.
Sharpest lens, can focus in a pitch-black room, you can even see in a
pitch-black room. It's like using night-vision goggles.
Super fast and quiet focusing, and has several exposure modes, including auto,
programmed auto (you pick the settings you want), shutter priority, aperture
priority and full manual.
It also has a hot-shoe for using a flash other than the one built in.
I love it.

Does the G3 let you manipulate Fstop and shutter speed sorts of things, or
the digital equivalent, so that you can make the background blurrier while
the subject is in focus? That is the only thing I miss about film cameras.
I still use my old Minolta with the kids so I can get those effects.
